Who We Are
We make heavy-duty handmade bags with adjustable straps and mix-and-match combinations.
Our inspiration comes from the love of people, their stories, and, most of all - our grandmas.
And also from funny conversations, riding bikes in the city, listening to great music, and spontaneous meetings.
It’s all driven by a love for design, quality, and the joy of creating something truly special.
Where it all begins
Founded by Maya Broid.
It started on a student exchange in Italy, where I spontaneously learned to knit while sitting on the beach with a friend. Around the same time, I noticed another friend with a carabiner on her bag.
Later, while traveling to Florence with my boyfriend, we came across a massive orange tarp used for construction. It was bold, utilitarian, and, to me, unexpectedly beautiful.
When we moved into a big house with a garden (yes, there was a garden), we needed to build a tarp shed for the yard. On my way to make it happen, I discovered this incredible material – tough, vibrant, and full of character. I bought some leftover tarp and began playing with shapes and functionality.
I’ve always loved making things – crafting, creating, and collaborating with others. It’s the love of people, the joy of walking, and the thrill of inspiration that fuel my designs. And that’s how I realized: I can make bags.
